AS the February general election draws near, wife of the Vice President Arch Namadi Sambo, Amina Namadi Sambo has called on women to overwhelmingly support the re-election bid of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Stressing that the call was necessary because of the numerous life-injecting policies and programmes that hinged on the development of women initiated by Jonathan administration, since inception to date.

Amina Namadi Sambo made the call during women empowerment programmes celebration tagged, “Political Women Empowerment Programme”, organized by her pet project, I Care Women And Youth Initiative, at Polo Ground, Kano.

She revealed that when voted into office for the second term, Jonathan has pledged to come up with more women empowerment programmes. “Mr. President is aware of the much-needed contributions you are giving to his campaign and that of the Vice President. You should be rest assured that we are taking you another higher level when we got your mandate for the second time,” she pledged.

Sambo advised women all over the federation to make sure that they collect their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs), as their only chance to vote for their rightful choices was when they were fully acknowledged by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The wife of the Vice President charged women, who were at the venue to help in disseminating the message that they were critical stakeholders in the Nigerian project, assuring that if they use their votes wisely Nigeria could be greater and be counted amongst the first world communities.
