Ugwuanyi will perform, Ekweremadu assures PDP
DEPUTY President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has given assurances that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, would deliver on his promises to Enugu people if elected in the forthcoming general elections.
Ekweremadu gave the assurances while addressing communities in Ezeagu Local Council in continuation of his re-election campaign and inspection and commissioning of various projects he attracted to the area under the President Jonathan Administration.
The Senator who inspected the 17-kilometre Obuofia-Imeziowa-Amokwe road project, also commissioned a classroom block at Unity Secondary School Ihuonyia, Amansiodo-Oghe and three primary school blocks at Umumba-Ndeagu.
He promised to renovate dilapidated primary school blocks in Umumba-Ndeagu and donate transformers to several communities in the council.
He said: “You would observe that there have been positive developments in Ezeagu since the inception of the current democratic era. Many roads have been built in Ezeagu and some communities now have water and electricity. But the truth is that these have not gone round and it is our belief that every community in Enugu West is entitled to good road, water, electricity, good schools, and other essentials of life”.
“Therefore, I would like to stand here before our people to guarantee that Honourable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will perform for the people of Enugu State; that Dennis Amadi will deliver to the people of Udi and Ezeagu Federal Constituency; that Chima Obieze will represent Ezeagu effectively in the Enugu State House of Assembly and that Ekweremadu will continue to serve you humbly”.
Speaking at the rally, stakeholders from the area including the Ezeagu Council Chairman, Emeka Ozoagu, a lawyer and Dr. Festus Uzor assured Ekweremadu and other candidates of the party of the vote of Ezeagu people, emphasising that about 90 percent of voters in the area had already collected their Permanent Voter’s Card.
