tinubu3LEADERS  of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Saturday stormed Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to flag off the re-election bid of governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The leaders, including former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Deputy National Chairman of the party in the south, Segun Oni, and former governors Olagubsoye Oyinlola and Kayode Fayemi, blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Nigeria’s woes. Addressing the mammoth crowd at the ancient Mapo Hall one after the other, they lamented that the last 16-year rule of the PDP has been characterised by bad governance, corruption and insecurity, among others.

They, therefore, called on the people of the state to reject PDP at the polls on February 14 and 28. The APC leaders assured the electorate that there would be improvement in all spheres of life if they re-elect Governor Abiola Ajimobi. Tinubu accused the Federal Government of squandering proceeds from 400 barrels of petroleum products on daily basis, while President Goodluck Jonathan claim ignorance.

While justifying why his party wanted PDP and President Jonathan out of power, Tinubu insisted that the current central government had allowed the country’s resources to be frittered away.

“Under their nose, 400,000 barrel of oil is stolen per day and they say they don’t see it. The resources that would have been used for your benefit and my benefit are frittered away.”

On Oyo state politics, Tinubu criticised the Accord party governorship candidate, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, describing him as ungrateful to the APC and particularly those of them that struggled to ensure he was reinstated after his illegal impeachment in 2006.
