Former Secretary General of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Elder Anthony Sani, has cautioned the military leader of Niger Republic to stop diverting attention from his “failure to deliver good governance to his people.”

He insisted that the President Bola Tinubu administration has never, in any way, plotted to destabilise the government of Niger Republic, pointing out that the alarm raised by the military leader was fake.

He said: “Nigeria, which is fighting terrorists and has been participating in many peace missions across the globe, cannot possibly engage in sponsoring terrorism for destabilisation of other countries. Nothing can motivate Nigeria to get involved in such dastardly acts.

“I am therefore tempted to believe that the military junta in the Niger Republic has turned to a blame game as a strategy to divert the attention of the people away from his failure to deliver on the promise to make the people of Niger experience see a change of peace, stability and prosperity for all.”

In a statement at the weekend, Sani urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s reforms for the nation’s economic survival. He argued that the recent tax reform bills before the National Assembly were to redirect the country’s socio-economic development. The ACF chief recalled that the President had appealed for understanding so that his policies would be carried out for the benefit of the citizenry.
