The Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development, Mr Monday Osasah, stated that in its fifteen years of operation, they have collectively made strategic core values on leadership by creating impact across the African continent.

Osasah made the assertion at a Media Interaction in Abuja on Tuesday, explaining that over the years, these guiding principles have inspired their mission to establish a school that has trained students from Cote D’Ivoire, The Gambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Niger, and Nigeria.

“The next vision of the Centre LSD will include expanding the leadership school across Africa, with specialised programmes tailored for youth, women, and marginalised communities to bridge the gaps between stakeholders and people as well as ensuring accountability.

“During the period under review, we’ve strengthened our presence in West Africa, influencing regional policies, particularly in resource governance and sustainable development. In all, we have pursued our mission working with forces of positive change to empower citizens to transform society,” Osasah asserted.

He therefore maintained that the Centre has prioritized strategic capacity building to ensure that individuals and institutions are armed with the tools to design and implement effective capacity-building programs for leaders and managers on different aspects of management in South Africa and Rwanda.

According to the Executive Director, within 15 years, we’ve advocated for women’s rights, abolished harmful practices like the ‘money woman’ tradition in Cross River State, promoted environmental sustainability, including the cleanup of Ogoni land, as well as the adoption of Open Government Partnership principles in 25 states of Nigeria.

“As we embark on this new chapter, we would want stakeholders to join us in building an Africa where leadership drives progress, policies empower people, and communities thrive in dignity and equity. We are leveraging a foundation of justice to create a legacy of development,” Osasah said.
