Nigerian cleric condemns Olympics last Supper parody
Nigerian Prophet Christian Shola on Sunday condemned the display of the Last Supper Parody at the Olympics by the Drag Queen, describing it as blasphemy. The prophet, who heads the Solution Family Worldwide Church of God, said in a statement that the perpetrators were out to mock the foundation upon which Christianity is founded.
Reaffirming his belief in God and asking other believers to do so, Shola said: “No matter how hard they try to mock the King of Glory, it’s all to His glory and honour and awareness of His great sacrifice for mankind.”
He stressed that the saviour of the world’s glory remains undiminished, shining from everlasting to everlasting.
The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 had ignited significant controversy with a drag queen-themed parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous mural, “The Last Supper.” Videos of the performance shared on social media quickly faced widespread criticism.

Prophet Shola insisted that the glory of God, which is everlasting, would not be blurred, adding that there’s an everlasting punishment for those that stand against “the Saviour of the whole world.”
He said the development touched a nerve, drawing a line between secular irreverence and the sacred respect due to religious beliefs.
He called on believers to hold fast to their convictions, while remembering that the glory of God transcends all attempts to belittle or diminish it.
