Nigerian Doctor charged with obscene phone content in UK
A fifty-five-year-old Nigerian medical doctor Cyprian Okoro, in Cameron Place, Streatham, south-west London has been found guilty by a court for possessing lots of extreme pornographic contents such as an indecent video of a two-year-old boy, “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene character.”
Okoro, an avid pornography watcher, was arrested after being found with five sexually explicit videos. Prosecutors saw the images and videos when they seized his phone.
Okoro, denied all five charges levelled against him but it didn’t take the court more than a day to find him guilty on all but two charges of possessing extreme pornography relating to bestiality with dogs.
In one of the videos, a man was having sex with a snake while in two others women were having sex with dogs and one woman was having sex with a horse. The Old Bailey court was told that Okoro received the contents through his social media and stored them on his mobile phone. He was also alleged to have transferred into a password-protected vault on his phone, an indecent video of a two-year-old boy.
The doctor denied all the charges, and has been released on bail as his sentencing was set for September 30. After issuing the verdict, the jury was informed that it was Cyprian’s second conviction. Apparently, he was to be given a nine-month jail term suspended for 18 months in 2014 after a woman accused him of sexual assault.
While ruling on the case, Judge Richard Hone QC said: “He is very lucky not to be immediately imprisoned and this was quite a bad case. “It would be unfair to put him immediately in prison when the first trial gave him a suspended sentence – even if it was frankly, pretty lenient.”
Cyprian, who qualified as a doctor in Nigeria, was in September 2013 suspended on an interim basis by the general medical council.
