In the governor’s goodwill message on Christmas Day at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Makurdi, he lampooned the nation’s leaders for failure and called on the electorate to vote “tested and trusted” people into leadership positions next year, as a panacea for peace and development.
He said: “The country is going through pains and hardship, as well as economic and security woes because those who were elected to lead the country at various levels have failed to leave up to their responsibilities.
“The 2023 election is the only opportunity we have. So, those who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs); I beg you in the name of God to do so because that is the only way you can exercise your franchise and restore hope and dignity to our country by electing leaders that have been tested and trusted, and whom you can rely on and work with.”
According to the governor, one vote can make a difference in causing change that will bring dignity and restoration to our country, promote economic development and add value to the development of humanity and restore security.
“Election riggers do not have any chance in 2023, as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is fool-proof against rigging.”
Ortom enjoined the people to remain firm as they enter into 2023, pointing out that with prayers, faith and works, Nigerians would experience the good life they desire.
The governor was at the church service with his predecessor, Gabriel Suswam, and his wife, Yemisi Suswam.
