Founder of Taskifai Digital Platform, Vincent Okafor, has said that Nigeria has a vibrant youthful population that is challenged by visibility and opportunity. He stated that many young people have the skills that can enable them to fit into various opportunities but they do not have access to the right audience.
Okafor, an innovator based in the United Kingdom, stated that he founded Taskifai, leveraging opportunities provided by everyday needs of the people.
He said: “Taskifai is a digital platform I founded to solve a very real problem. It helps people access everyday services quickly and safely. It connects individuals and small businesses that offer services like cleaning, handyman work, babysitting, event planning, and more with those who need them in real time and within their local community. It is like a community-powered help desk where people can find trusted service providers around them.”
He stated that Nigerian youths need to look inwards to create opportunities with their abundant skills to solve unemployment .
“Many young people have the skills. They can cook, clean, fix things, design, decorate, but they do not have access to the right audience. Taskifai helps to close that gap by giving them a digital presence besides connecting them directly with people who are looking for what they offer.
“We are also building GetProved, a third party verification platform that allows anyone, especially Nigerians in the Diaspora, to verify goods, services, and suppliers in Nigeria before making payments. Think of it as a trust bridge. Whether you are trying to buy a car, rent an apartment, or patronise a local vendor, you can now send a trusted local validator to confirm the quality, take photos, and provide feedback before paying. This creates a new kind of digital gig economy where Nigerians can earn by becoming local validators, shoppers, and service inspectors,” he added.
Okafor said GetProved would be integrated into Taskifai, allowing users to verify both people and services directly within the platform. He added that it would exist as a standalone application to serve other use cases beyond what Taskifai offers.
“Together, both platforms offer practical ways to reduce unemployment. Taskifai creates direct service jobs by connecting people to customers. GetProved creates remote earning opportunities through verification and inspection gigs.
“We also have other tech innovations underway that will be beneficial to Nigerian youths while improving trade relations between the UK and Nigeria. That is the broader vision behind our work.
“I believe Nigerian youths can overcome unemployment when we equip them with tools that unlock visibility, build trust, and allow them to monetise their everyday skills without requiring large capital. That is the core of our mission,” he stated.
Okafor’s work has not gone unnoticed. His platforms are gaining traction both in the UK and across Nigerian communities, with plans to expand Taskifai into Diaspora-heavy cities like Birmingham and London.
