THE Chairman, Board of Directors, Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (rtd), has urged the electorate to eschew politics of religion as they come out en-mass today to vote for candidates that would take Taraba State to the promised land. Kefas expressed sadness at the way and manner the people have continued to mix religion with politics, noting that the attitude if not urgently addressed would continue to retard the growth of the state.

NIMASATHE Chairman, Board of Directors, Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), Lt.

Kefas, who spoke with journalists yesterday in Jalingo said “even though religion is playing out, we will make sure we don’t use religion in politics.”

“Rather than using religion as the yardstick in today’s governorship and House of Assembly elections, the electorate should prepare themselves and come out with their PVCs and elect leaders that would take them to the promised land,” he noted.

The NIMASA boss, who was one of the many aspirants from southern Taraba that vied for the PDP governorship ticket, said the ongoing gale of defection would not in any way affect the chances of PDP in the state. According to him, “defection or no defection, it is not going to affect our participation, because it is a decision that all of us have made. So no going back.”
