NJC recommends 33 judicial officers for appointment

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of six heads of court, 26 judges for state high courts as well as a Kadi for the Sharia Court of Appeal.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of six heads of court, 26 judges for state high courts as well as a Kadi for the Sharia Court of Appeal.

The Justice Tanko Muhammad-led council after considering the list of candidates presented by the body’s Interview Committee made the recommendation.

Some of the beneficiaries include Justice Onochie Manasseh Anyachebelu as Chief Judge of Anambra State High Court of Justice; Justice Mohammed Suleiman Ambursa as Chief Judge, Kebbi State High Court of Justice; Justice Akon Bassey Ikpeme as Cross River CJ and Kadi Dahiru Muhammad Gusau for Zamfara State Sharia Court of Appeal.

A statement by NJC’s Director of Media and Information, Soji Oye, also named Justice Mobolaji Ayodele Ojo as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Ogun State; and Justice Foluke Eunice Awolalu as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Osun State.

Others are Olufunmilayo O. Stanley and Olukemi Olusola Yetunde Oresanya as judges, Ogun State High Court of Justice.

Meanwhile, seven judges were appointed for Imo State High Court of Justice. They are Onyeka Vincent Ifeanyichukwu; Leweanya Kechinyere A; Victoria Chinyere Isiguzo; Vivian O. B. Ekezie; Eze Nonye Eke; Ihuoma Grace Chukwunyere and Ibeawuchi Edith Chinyere.
