The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Leye Falade, has commended the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for what he described as remarkable progress in Nigeria’s fight against corruption, economic sabotage, and financial crimes.
Falade gave the commendation on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, when he led NLNG’s top management team on a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
He praised the EFCC leadership for its commitment, describing the Commission’s efforts as courageous and critical to safeguarding the Nigerian business environment. According to him, the fight against financial crimes requires resilience, noting that the EFCC’s work helps strengthen transparency and trust in the nation’s economic system.
Falade also said NLNG had integrated strong ethical standards and governance structures into its operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to fair business practices. He added that the company remains committed to maintaining high standards of integrity both within and outside Nigeria.
In his response, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged NLNG as a key contributor to Nigeria’s economy, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Olukoyede noted that while the EFCC previously had a strained relationship with NLNG, those issues had been resolved, paving the way for improved cooperation between both institutions.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to work with corporate organisations, stressing that its mandate goes beyond enforcement to include prevention, collaboration, and public sensitisation.
The EFCC boss also highlighted his administration’s focus on promoting economic stability through responsible anti-corruption measures. He explained that this informed the creation of the Fraud Risk Assessment and Control (FRAC) department, established to identify and mitigate fraud risks within Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and corporate organisations.
Olukoyede further stated that the EFCC remains open to supporting organisations in strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, urging NLNG to continue engaging the Commission where necessary.
The visit ended with renewed commitments to deepen collaboration between both institutions in the ongoing effort to promote transparency, accountability, and economic growth in Nigeria.
