In a significant move to foster innovation and enhance workers’ safety on the continent, the Africa Safety Award for Excellence (AfriSAFE) has launched the “AfriSAFE 2025 Safety Idea Capital.”
The initiative hopes to connect aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators with experienced individuals, known as “Guardians,” who are prepared to invest up to $5,000 in exchange for equity to support their ground-breaking HSSE ideas.
CEO of AfriSAFE, Femi Da-silva, while announcing the initiative, underscored the organisation’s commitment to driving HSE advancements in Africa. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their ideas prior to the AfriSAFE event scheduled for November in Mombasa, Kenya, he said.
Da-silva emphasised that the AfriSAFE Safety Idea Capital offers not only financial backing, but also mentorship that would make roads, workplaces, and homes safer through new technologies.He, consequently, opened nominations for the seventh AfriSAFE 2025 sponsored by Seplat Energy, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
