NPC reassures enumerators of adequate security in Kogi
This is coming against the backdrop of incessant kidnapping activities in recent times in the state. The NPC federal commissioner for the state, Alhaji Muhammad Akubo Aikoye said the third phase of the EAD would commence on 20th February 2017 to end on the 10th of March, 2017 in Ijumu Local Government.
The commissioner, who gave the assurance yesterday during a press briefing at the state headquarters in Lokoja yesterday, said they have made contacts with all security outfits for adequate security coverage. He called on all to take the exercise seriously since it is the fulcrum on which the entire census architecture rests.
He warned those preparing for malpractices in the EAD that will enable them to gain advantage to shelve their plans, as the 2018 census would be biometric-based, which will capture finger prints and facial impression of persons during the exercise.
