OAGF assures affected workers as February salary delays persist

Dr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the delay in February 2026 salaries for staff of some federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to shortfalls in personnel cost allocations.

The affected MDAs include the Federal Ministry of Steel Development, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, National Rural Electrification Agency, Kamuku National Park, and the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria.

In a statement, the OAGF said the delay stemmed from a technical glitch, which has since been resolved, and directed the affected MDAs to liaise with the Cash Management Office of the Federal Ministry of Finance to address the shortfalls.

The Office clarified that salaries for other federal workers have already been paid. It also addressed issues faced by staff whose salaries are domiciled with Standard Chartered Bank, explaining that bank policy requiring a minimum account balance of ₦7 million temporarily prevented access, even though salaries had been credited.

The OAGF assured affected workers that all efforts are ongoing to resolve the issues promptly.
