Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has paid the 13th month salaries and pensions for government workers and pensioners in the state.

In a statement, Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, said workers and pensioners received their 13th month salaries and pensions in the early hours of yesterday, December 27, 2023, in line with the pledge the governor made.

The Commissioner said: “The Governor has paid the 13th month salaries and pensions of workers and pensioners in the state.”

“Obaseki has honoured the pledge to pay the 13th month salaries, which he made on Workers Day. The governor’s gesture further demonstrates his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners.

“The payment will help in ameliorating the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.”
