TO mark the 50th memorial of Nigeria’s finance minister in the first Republic, Festus Okotie-Eboh, a book presentation and public lecture will hold on January 15 at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, (NIIA), Lagos.
The book, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh: In his times and Space, is written by Professor Jide Osuntokun while the lecture, Okotie-Eboh: His politics and times would be delivered by Alhaji Maitama Sule. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is billed to chair the event.
One of Okotie-Eboh’s children, Dere Awosika, who spoke on behalf of the family, said that the family felt the need to celebrate their father and highlight what he stood for while he lived.
In a statement yesterday, Awosika said, “We felt we would be doing well to his name and Nigeria when we laid out the truth about who he was for a better tomorrow.”
