Oborevwori inaugurates second batch of special advisers

The Delta state governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Wednesday inaugurated the second batch of Special Advisers at a ceremony in the historic Unity Hall at the old Government House in Asaba.

Oborevwori in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) said he is proud to present a distinguished group of Special Advisers consisting of carefully selected technocrats who possess exceptional skills and expertise.

“During the ceremony, I emphasized to the appointees that their appointments are not merely an end in itself, but rather a significant opportunity to serve the wonderful people of Delta State,” he said.

“I wholeheartedly urged them to become catalysts for change, approaching their assignments with a profound sense of urgency.

“Furthermore, I emphasized the importance of avoiding any form of preferential treatment, be it on the grounds of ethnicity, politics or religion.”

Meanwhile, according to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, nine Special Advisers were sworn-in by Oborevwori.

The Special Advisers are Barr. Charles Whomrowho Oniyere, Barr. Michael Ogboru, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni and Hon. Shedrack Ekene Rapu.

Others are Dr. Donald Onyibe Peterson, Dr. Goodnews Agbi, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor and Chief Nath Azuka Igbadi.

Oborevwori said his administration is poised to break new grounds in infrastructural development, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable development in Delta state.

Governor Oborevwori who made the pledge during the swearing-in of nine new Special Advisers, enjoined the appointees to put in their best to actualize his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda for the people of the state.

He said the appointment of the new Special Advisers were part of efforts towards building a strong team of technocrats and policy experts for the implementation of his administration’s policies and programmes.

“Exactly two months ago, I swore in nine Special Advisers as part of the ongoing process of putting together a strong team of technocrats and policy experts for the administration,” Oborevwori said.

“Today, we have added nine more to strengthen the governance process imperative for the actualisation of our MORE agenda.

“While I congratulate the new Special Advisers, I expect that you will justify the confidence that has been reposed in you with this appointment.

“This administration is poised to break new grounds in infrastructural development, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable development.”
