.ADC urges Kogi Central’s support for power shift to West

Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has said his government will facilitate the establishment of an Agricultural Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to enhance agro-based processing for export, and enhance rapid development of social infrastructure in Okun land, if elected in November 11 to govern the state.

Speaking at APC zonal campaign rally in Kabba, Kogi West Senatorial District, at the weekend, Ododo promised to initiate a massive public works programme to rehabilitate all major roads in Okun by engaging at least 500 young people from the zone in his first 100 days in office as governor of Kogi.

The APC candidate assured the people of Kogi West that his administration would build on the legacy of Yahaya Bello’s administration.

While acknowledging the need to do more to improve the lives of the people, he reaffirmed his commitment to transform the state by promoting inclusive government that will accord equal opportunities to men, women and the youth, irrespective of their tribe, religion or political affiliations.

In the same vein, African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship campaign council in Kogi, yesterday, visited stakeholders in Ogori Magongo/Okene federal Constituency, in Kogi Central, including monarchs, community and religious leaders.

According to him, people of Kogi West and Central have a long history of working harmoniously since their days in the old Kwara State. He, therefore, pleaded with the people of Kogi Central to support Kogi West in the actualisation of power shift in 2024.

Okene is the home of APC’s Bello and Ododo.

The visits were in continuation of the statewide campaign tour by the ADC candidate for the November 11 election, Leke Abejide, and his running mate, Idris Omede, as well as other prominent party members in Kogi Central.

Addressing supporters at the Okene rally, Abejide recalled that he also contributed to the success of Bello in the 2015 election.
