CJ charges new judges to adhere to administration of justice
The Ogun State House of Assembly yesterday urged collaboration among security agencies to put in place proactive measures to checkmate impending crime and criminality that may arise by the influx of the banned Okada riders from Lagos State into Ogun State.

The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, stated this during a plenary held at the Assembly Complex in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Oluomo, who spoke while responding to the submissions of lawmakers, including Adegoke Adeyanju, Sikirat Ajibola and Wahab Haruna under personal explanation at the plenary, also admonished residents of the state to be more security conscious.

He stated that putting in place a means of identification for riders became expedient to strengthen security operations.

Besides, he urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to, as a matter of urgency, intervene in the plight of the people living in the border areas to checkmate the overzealousness of security personnel, which had been inflicting untold hardship on business owners and residents.

He also urged the leadership of the State Security Trust Fund to realign the allocation of vehicles and other operational logistics to include all parts of the state to checkmate crimes and criminalities.

Meanwhile, the state Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, yesterday charged the newly-sworn-in President and members of the Customary Court of Appeal and High Court Judges in the state to strictly adhere to the administration of justice.

Justice Dipeolu gave the charge at the formal introduction ceremony of the judges to the judiciary, members of the Bar and the general public, held at the Judiciary Complex, Kobape Road, Abeokuta, the state capital.

The chief judge noted that their appointment was in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

She stressed that the appointment of the president and judges of the Customary Court of Appeal was significant, as they are the first ever to be sworn into the newly-established Customary Court of Appeal since the creation of the State.
