Ogun introduces insurance scheme for pilgrims 


Hajj-pixThe Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has introduced an insurance scheme for intending pilgrims for the 2016 Hajj.

It has also announced that the sale of forms will take place between January 4 and 8 2016.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed in a statement issued in Abeokuta indicated that eligible pilgrims would pay N3, 000 for the insurance policy and N10, 000.00 for the purchase of the form.

He stated that intending pilgrims are expected to pay the sum of N800, 000 as initial deposit before February 15, 2016, while medical laboratory tests for an effective care of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia will be conducted by the board’s approved laboratory at a cost of N2, 700, which should be paid into accredited banks.

The intending pilgrims are also expected to provide original certificate of origin from their respective Local Government Areas or letters of identification.
