The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), Ogun State chapter has been engulfed by internal crisis, which has factionalised the party into two.

One of the factions is led by the sacked chairman of the party; Alhaji Olutobi Gbadamosi while the other is being led by a new chairman, Mr. A Adewuni.

Following a petition by the party’s Deputy Chairman, Prince Mohammed Adeyemi, the leadership at the national level had sacked Gbadamosi and organised an election which Adewuni won and was inaugurated as the new chairman.

However, Gbadamosi has gone to an Abeokuta High Court challenging his removal which he insists was illegal and therefore null and void.

The petition which resulted in Gbadamosi’s sack, had alleged, among other things that he had not only hijacked the party but he also “Plays politics of “bitterness, exclusion, sentiments, tribalism, hatred and greed”.

According to the petition, Gbadamosi, in addition runs the affairs of the party in secrecy as no executive member knows how the party’s funds are expended.

“He (Gbadamosi) has thrown the party into total confusion and chaotic situation”, the petition alleged.

But Gbadamosi has described the allegations as mere fabrications by Adeyemi in his “desperate quest” to get him removed so that he (Adeyemi) achieves his ambition of becoming the Chairman.

In his “Affidavit of Urgency” filed at the High Court by his Counsel, Mr. Tunde Elemide, Gbadamosi insisted that the three-man Committee that looked into the petition, resulting in his sack was biased against him.

Besides, he said contrary to the party’s constitution, he was not given the chance to appeal against the decision of his sack.

A date is yet to be fixed to hear the suit which was filed before the Court on Friday, April 23
