A social-political group in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, Oke-Ogun Progressive Group (OOPN), has endorsed the candidacy of former Chairman of Iseyin Local Council, Alhaji Saheed Alaran, for Oyo North Senatorial District.

The group, which gave the endorsement yesterday after its monthly meeting held at Saki in Saki West Local Council, urged the incumbent senator, Dr. Fatai Buhari, to drop his senatorial ambition.

It therefore, urged the people of the region to support the former chairman, who they said, has had an unbroken record of good leadership and care for his people.

According to a statement signed by its Chairman, Mr. Olayiwola Olasunkanmi and Secretary, Mr. Bambi Abiodun, the group said the meeting focused on how to mobilise delegates towards the party’s primary and consequently the main election after Alaran must have got the party’s ticket.

The group maintained it is the turn of Oke-Ogun to present a viable candidate as Buhari from the Ogbomoso had already enjoyed two terms in the Senate.
