The Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr Mike Okiro, has restated his commitment to the development of the country.

Okiro made the disclosure in a statement signed by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations of the Commission in Abuja on Thursday.

The statement quoted Ani as saying the PSC chairman made the pledge when he received two leadership awards in Abuja.

He said the awards were from the Nkwame Nkruma Vision and Life Movement of Ghana and the Trail Blazer Magazine in Nigeria.

Ani stated that Okiro had promised to continue to be of service to the development of the country whenever he was called upon and dedicated the rest of his life to the service of God and the Nigerian nation.

He said the Ghanian award was in honour of Africans and Africans in Diaspora who had impacted in different fields of nation building.

The PSC head of press quoted Mr Felix Okonkwo, leader of the Ghanian Movement as saying the award was in recognition of Okiro’s years of meritorious service to the growth of the Nigeria police.

He said he was also being recognised for his efforts at repositioning the PSC.

In a remark, the leader of the delegation of Trail Blazers Magazine, Nigeria, Mr Emmanuel Oche, said the award was in recognition of Okiro’s leadership qualities, Ani added.
