Okorocha Creates New Communities, Installs Monarchs
THE Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has approved the creation of seven autonomous communities in Owerri Municipal and Ideato North Local councils of the state.
He has equally issued certificate of recognition and Staff of Office to monarchs to control the affairs of the new communities. While issuing the certificates, he warned that any autonomous community where kidnapping and other forms of criminal activities are reportedly prevalent, the monarch of such community would be held responsible.
The governor disclosed that very soon, government would embark on re-certification of all the autonomous communities in the state with the aim of ascertaining those that were not qualified, but were created out of political sentiments.
Those identified to belong to such category, Okorocha said, would be reverted to the communities where they were originally.
