Okowa denies involvement in Amaechi’s judicial scandal
Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has vehemently denied having a hand in the ongoing judicial scandal against Minister of
Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.
In a statement, yesterday, in Asaba, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Okowa faulted the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Mr. Davies Ikanya, who alleged that Okowa, in league with his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, and others members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were behind allegations made by justices Sylvester Ngwuta, and Inyang Okoro, of the Supreme Court.
Okowa described the Rivers State APC allegation as false, misleading and a calculated attempt to smear his hard-earned reputation, noting that Ikanya should concern himself with the dwindling fortunes of his party in the state, rather than embarking on a wild goose chase.
The statement said: “The attention of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been drawn to yet another spurious allegation by the Rivers State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Ordinarily we wouldn’t have joined issues with a jobless party chairman like Ikanya, but in order to set the records straight, it is pertinent to state that Governor Okowa has no hand in the latest scandals swirling around the transportation minister.
