Olubadan, others urge rich Nigerians to honour indigents
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II; two medical professionals – Dr. Saheed Ademola and Dr. Kolawole Ilesanmi – and the Chief Executive Officer of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Fortunate Michael Charity Foundation (FMF), Michael Oloruntola, have urged well-to-do people to extend hands of love to them, especially during festivities.
They made the call during the medical outreach organised by the Foundation in conjunction with Olubadan-in-Council and Kedi Health Care, held at the Olubadan palace.
Oloruntola, who said that the programme was borne out of the need to assist the less privileged in the society, urged well-meaning Nigerians to extend hands of love to them to enable them have a sense of belonging.
Chief Mukaila Balogun, who spoke on behalf of the Olubadan, emphasised the need to extend love to the poor.
Also, Ademola said: “We don’t have to be sick before we visit the hospital.
“Rich people must come out to help the less privileged.”
On his part, Ilesanmi said: “People are suffering from anxiety because of lack of medical attention. It is because they are not financially viable. People die of these ailments for lack of money.”
‘’The rich should always think of others. They should do something of this nature by sending doctors to rural areas to make people happy, he said.
