Omo-Agege lauds president for backing NDDC
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (APC, Delta Central) has commended the President Muhammadu Buhari administration for supporting the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
“I must not fail to thank President Buhari for funding the NDDC to enable it achieve such massive interventions recorded so far, particularly in Delta State and the Niger Delta region,” Omo-Agege said when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo flagged off the Tradermoni scheme in Ughelli at the weekend.
He added that the NDDC has made remarkable progress in delivering on Buhari’s mandate for the region.
Osinbajo said 30,000 petty traders would benefit from the scheme, each receiving N10,000 in January 2019.
“This is not a government that believes that the money of the people should be stolen. Our determination is to build this country,” he said.
Those who accompanied the vice president included Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu; former Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan; NDDC Executive Director, Projects, Samuel Adjogbe; and factional governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Prof. Pat Utomi.
