Ondo emerges third best public fund manager

Center for Fiscal Transparency and Integrity Watch (CeFTIW), together with MacArthur Foundation, has ranked Ondo State the third best state in Nigeria in terms of transparency and accountability in public fund management and implementation of public policies.

The rating was announced in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, who described the achievement as a significant milestone.

According to Ademola-Olateju, CeFTIW considered six key areas in its ranking, which include accessibility, open budget, public procurement, human resources, anti-corruption, and citizen engagement.

She said the steady climb up the transparency and accountability ladder by the state is a laudable understanding of the foundations needed for sustainable development. She listed the top five states in the ranking to include Ekiti, Kaduna, Ondo, Lagos and Gombe.
