Onoh’s wife buried amidst heavy downpour and tributes
The remains of Mrs. Caroline Onoh, the wife of a former governor of old Anambra State, Christian Onoh, was interred at the family compound in Ngwo in Enugu North Council of Enugu State amidst heavy rain and glowing tributes.
The deceased was buried after a requiem mass at the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu as family members and friends defied the rain to join the motorcade. Although Onoh’s first son, Gabriel, a two-time commissioner and former Mayor of Enugu Municipal, was absent from the event, other members of the family led in procession by Dr Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, followed by former Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and the rest were present.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Nnamdi Nwankwo, the Principal of College of Immaculate Conception (CIC), Enugu, described the deceased as a devout Christian who devoted her life to the welfare of others.
Also speaking, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the deceased was “a woman of great character,” who inspired many through her good virtues and simplicity.
“We take solace in the worthy legacies left by her and we will remain eternally grateful to God for the gift of our late mother,” Ugwuanyi said.Mrs. Onoh, mother of Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, died on June 17 at 81.
Dignitaries at the burial include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Geofrey Onyeama; Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano; former governors of Anambra and Ebonyi, Peter Obi and Martin Elechi, respectively, and members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), led by their National Chairman, Dr. Ike Oye. Others included Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Chairman of APGA, Sir Victor Umeh and former Foreign Affairs minister, Chief Dubem Onyia.

No single yoruba or hausa in event like this, meaning that a wife of such old politician and mother of an Ambassador of Federal rep will be buried with out representative of the federal government it show how divide Nigerian is now in fact its no longer a nation its federal republic of groups
