Ooni commends Karim Adeyemi for humanitarian service
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, has commended the Karim Adeyemi Foundation for its significant humanitarian efforts. Ogunwusi, who gave the commendation, when the Borussia Dortmund star, Karim Adeyemi led other members of the foundation on a courtesy visit to the monarch’s palace in Ile-Ife, also applauded Adeyemi for his commitment to using his platform to create a better future for people and giving back to society.
“I’m really proud of you for your kindness and efforts, using your foundation to create a better future for people is truly commendable. I’m proud of you, and I encourage you to continue this spirit of humanity. Thank you for doing this; I’m very proud of you.”
Ogunwusi, however, urged Adeyemi to stay focused on his charitable work and continue making a positive impact on people’s lives. In his response, Adeyemi thanked the Ooni for the warm welcome, expressing his delight at being at the palace.
He also spoke about his efforts to create opportunities for young football talents through the Adeyemi Football Club, reinforcing his commitment to making a difference.
“I’m honoured to be here with my parents. My primary mission is to give back to society through my foundation, the Karim Adeyemi Foundation. Additionally, I aim to provide opportunities for young talents in football through the Adeyemi Football Club.”
I will continue to do what’s necessary to support the community.” Karim Adeyemi’s father, Abiodun Adeyemi, emphasised that Karim has always remained grounded in his roots and will continue his charitable work.
The visit was part of Adeyemi’s annual trip to Nigeria. He arrived in Ibadan, his father’s hometown, on December 23rd. The following day, he attended the grand finale of the Adeyemi Under-15 Football Championship at Olubadan Stadium. On December 25th, he commissioned several projects initiated by his foundation in Oje, Ibadan, before heading to Ile-Ife to meet with the Ooni.
