A South-West socio-cultural group, Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), yesterday, urged the Federal Government and necessary stakeholders to address the rising cost of living.

The group condemned the expensive cost of fuel and gas, and demanded that pending when the nation’s four refineries would begin local production, President Muhammadu Buhari must halt the plan to remove subsidy.

In a statement, OPC President, Otunba Wasiu Afolabi, warned that scrapping fuel subsidies without locally-produced fuel, would further escalate inflation, endanger industries and increase hardship.

OPC also demanded that the government must equally tame the galloping prices of cooking gas, domestic kerosene and aviation fuel.

The group, therefore, warned that development in the country today is stressing Nigerians beyond their limit of endurance.
