As Anambra gov appoints six principal officers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said its officer behind the trending video that showed former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, in its custody was undergoing disciplinary action.

It said the video contravened the established Standard Operating Procedure of the EFCC, adding that several reactions had trailed the video of Obiano in EFCC’s custody, which appeared online on Sunday afternoon and thereafter.

For instance, while describing the video as an embarrassment, the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council decried the ‘inhumane treatment’ meted out to Obiano and queried how the video leaked in the first place

In a statement issued yesterday, spokesman of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said an investigation ordered upon discovery of the leak, revealed the errant officer behind the odious act and he is currently being subjected to disciplinary action.

In a related development, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo has appointed six principal officers in his administration with the aim of moving the state forward.

He said the new appointees are the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ernest Ezeajuyi, Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), Richard Nwora Madiebo and Special Adviser on Security, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ben Chiobi (rtd).

A statement issued by spokesman for the governor, Joe Anatune, in Awka, revealed that other appointees are the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Osita Chukwulobelu, Accountant General, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli and Deputy Chief of Staff and State Chief of Protocol, Chinedu Nwoye.
