
While The Imaginative President, Rotary Club of Isolo, Dr, Atilade ‘Femi Oshoniyi reciprocated his partners in progress with assorted awards to mark the end of his tenure, the President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Dr. Olawale Cole urged Nigerians to support every course aimed at lifting up the downtrodden.
Olawale Cole, a doyen of Rotary Club of Isolo and Past District Governor, gave the charge at an Award and Appreciation programme superintended by Oshoniyi to mark the end of his tenure for the Rotary year, 2022-2023 where he also honoured 72 persons who contributed to his successful tenure with different awards, ranging from humanitarian of the year award, philanthropic award, platinum award, diamond award among others. Olawale-Cole, one of the awardees was represented at the event by Mr. Lolu Oluwatona.
In his remarks, Oshoniyi said: “Despite the fact that I am based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, I was given the rare privilege to lead this club with a view to serving humanity. Hence, I consider it very important to appreciate all those that have committed themselves to assist us in championing the course of humanity with various awards.
“We cannot forget in a hurry other principal helpers such as the first female District Governor, Rotary International, District, 9110, Omotunde Lawson, who has taken the District to the next level; past District Governors including Wale Ogunbadejo, Kola Sodipo; past Assistant Governors; Ade Oyenekan, Kunle Jeje including his Royal highness, Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kareem Agbabiaka, the DPO, Ogudu, Ajoke Akande, among others for their supportive roles.”
His vice and incoming President of the club, Rotarian Abimbola Oseni, underscored the importance of team spirit within the club, stating that it is key to a successful tenure.
She said that her first project for the month of July would be around maternal and child health, among others in the pipeline, including the completion of the Cervical Cancer Centre at Isolo General Hospital.
