OSOPADEC to host peace forum
THE Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has planned a stakeholders’ forum to strengthen peace, development and security in its mandate area tomorrow.
The Commission’s Chairman, Wole Ogunyemi, in a statement in Akure said the forum is to focus attention on the relationship between peace and development in the oil bearing parts of the State and as well apprise stakeholders of projects and initiatives of the commission.
“We have a duty to report back to the people of our mandate areas on our prospects and challenges and as well seek their further supports as we deliver on the core projects of the commission in the communities of the mandate area, “ Ogunyemi said.
The stakeholders’ forum which is expected to be graced by political, religious and traditional leaders and elders of the mandate area, will be held in Igbokoda, the Headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of the State.
Presentations are expected from experts on peace building, development and economic growth.
OSOPADEC, Ogunyemi said, has delivered several projects in the mandate area in the areas of school infrastructure, roads and bridges as well as basic and comprehensive health centres and is poised to deliver portable water to the people of Ilaje Local Government Area for the first time in history under a project initiated by the Mimiko government.
