The Onipe of Ipee, Oba Mufutau Adebayo Lawal, has installed an award-winning veteran journalist, Adeyinka Sunday Kolawole, as the Ojomu of Ipee Land.
The investiture ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Onipe Palace.
Kolawole, popularly known as Yinka Kolawole, is the Osun State Correspondent of ThisDay Newspapers. He was born in 1962 in Ipee, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, to the family of late Prince Samuel Adebisi
Kolawole and Elizabeth Awawu Kolawole of Elega’s Compound, Lagbedu Araka, of the Elega Royal Family.
He is married to Eniola Folashade Lydia Kolawole, and the union is blessed with children.
In his remarks at the well-attended ceremony, the Onipe prayed for a successful reign for the new Ojomu of Ipee Land and urged him to uphold the oath of his office.
The Akogun of Ipee, Chief Samuel Ogunwuyi, who moderated the programme, charged the newly installed chief to deploy his wealth of experience and expertise in serving the Ipee community with loyalty and commitment through the palace.
The oath of office was administered on the new Ojomu by Chief S. O. Dara.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Kolawole thanked the traditional ruler for upholding the customs of his forefathers by approving his candidacy.
The senior journalist assured that he would serve with humility and dedication to promote the development of Ipee community and effectively represent his compound at the palace.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Asiwaju of Ipee Land, Chief Olabode Afolayan; President of the Ipee Progressive Union, Mr Simeon Ogunsola; traditional chiefs; princes and princesses; journalists; as well as friends and family members.
