Despite being an essential component of every business, HR is yet to be seen as a deeply integrated, strategic aspect of business operations. The secret to high-performing organizations is that they have a deep understanding of how important the human resources department is in enabling the organization’s success as a whole. In recent times, technology has entirely transformed the *workforce and the workplace* and with an increased adoption, organizations are employing the help of a human resource management system (HRMS) to prepare and hone a skilled and future-ready workforce.

Founded by Seyi Babatunde, a B2B consultant and entrepreneur, HRLeverage is one of the HR organizations that leverages technology to provide a one-stop human resources services such as *Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)*, Expatriate management, head hunting, payroll management, *HR for SMEs*, staff outsourcing, *Statutory/Compliance Management*, PEO service, *Remote Staff Management, Africa Market Entry Advisory* and HR technology to various industries.

“We started out as a social intervention in 2014, helping graduates and experienced talents find suitable opportunities with Global and local companies. We were doing more of employability and skill enhancement intervention. Most times it was done free. Later, we re-strategized to be a B2B company that connect companies directly with talents and structures in order to sustain the business. Now, We are currently working on Multi currency payroll software that will revolutionize Workforce management in Africa” Seyi Babatunde says in a recent interview.

Currently operating in major African cities, including Lagos, Lusaka, Abuja, Accra, Dakar, Der es Salam, Kampala, Nairobi and Addis Ababa, HRLeverage has been helping businesses and start-ups scale into other African markets using their HR Outsourcing Services and PEO Solutions. When one analyzes the development of the business as a whole, the significance of talent management and human resource management systems (HRMS) becomes evident. With every new job opening, expansion into other countries or staff development initiative, the organization can reach a higher level of sustainability and profitability. “We help businesses scale, irrespective of their current sizes. Some of this business don’t need to incorporate in the country of scale, our team will act as their team and operations are done without their physical presence” he further explains.

Speaking on how HRLeverages’s success story, Seyi Babatunde says “Our success spiralled in 2019 when we decided to work with Fintechs such as Opay. This created opportunities for us as a brand but 2020 was the ultimate breakthrough, despite the pandemic. Although, like every other business Covid -19 altered our operations as many client with our outsourced staff shed operational weights. We decided to have some automation into our operation by opening a virtual business in 2 extra countries, Uganda and Kenya at that time. With few adverts, coincidentally we got a client trying to scale into those territories, we signed a few contract for staff outsourcing and payroll services despite the lockdown as few multinational companies didn’t want to be liable for employment contracts rather they wanted a human resources firm to leverage on”.

“During this process, we discovered that while there are numerous multinational companies in Africa, those companies prefers to use an African business who has capacity to help them spread their operations most especially because of the complexities and statutory implications of doing business. As at 2022 , we had incorporated sister companies in 8 African markets within the sub Sahara region in Africa. We have established a sister company called ‘OfficePhase’ a tailored private serviced office space and co-working space across the continent” he concludes.
