The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed the 2015 Appropriation Bill of N143.10 billion into law.

The bill, which was passed on Tuesday at the Assembly’s plenary, had a recurrent expenditure of N88.054 billion as against the N55.054 for capital expenditure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Gov. Abiola Ajimobi had presented a fiscal proposal of N141.77 billion to the lawmakers.

The budget was passed after Olusegun Olayele, the Chairman, House Committee on Finance, submitted the committee’s report to the House.

Olaleye said that the House increased the budget estimate with about N2billion considering the needs of the administration.

He said that the increment was to adequately finance the administration’s welfare programmes.

Olaleye, who pledged that the lawmakers would monitor the implementation of the budget, expressed the hope that the state would witness more development in the fiscal year.
