The Oyo State government, on Thursday, enrolled 10,000 vulnerable pupils in its health insurance scheme for free.
The flag-off took place at Idi Ape, Ibadan, the state capital.
Speaking, Governor Seyi Makinde of the state, who was represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal, described the initiative as historic in the state, saying it would afford vulnerable pupils within the selected local councils access to improved healthcare services without payment.

While the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency Scheme, Dr. Sola Akande, assured prompt health delivery to its pupil-beneficiaries at accredited hospitals, pupils and teachers in some selected schools lauded the Seyi Makinde-led government, saying the initiative would stem poor health among the vulnerable.
