Oyo government canvasses religious harmony, tolerance among diverse faiths
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, yesterday, canvassed religious harmony and tolerance among residents of the state.
Besides, it sought the support and unity of traditional and religious worshippers.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, gave the charge during an interactive and prayer session with traditional and religious leaders and Arabas in Oyo State, organised by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-faith Affairs held at the House of Chiefs, Agodi Secretariat Ibadan.
Olatunbosun, who appealed for cooperation and support of the traditional and religious worshippers for the success of the administration, gave the assurance that the state government would see to their various appeals.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Relations, Femi Josiah, charged traditional worshippers to support the administration with fervent prayers.
SIMILARLY, Mrs. Paula Gomes, the Cultural Ambassador to Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, lauded Makinde for practising an all-inclusive government and for his efforts to balance religious tolerance in the state.
