The Oyo State chapter of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), yesterday, appointed Mr Sunday Adeosun, as its acting state’s chairman following the suspension of Mr. Sesan Adegbola, the immediate past chairman, over alleged anti-party activities.
Adeosun is the immediate past chairman of NNPP in Oyo North Senatorial district.
Rising from a press briefing presided over by Prince Ridwan Afolabi, the suspension letter of Adegbola, was unanimously signed by all the state executive members and 33 local government chairmen after a rigorous deliberation.
The leadership of the party said part of what caused Adegbola’s suspension were negligence, absenteeism and taking unilateral decisions.
According to Afolabi, “Adegbola’s suspension was necessitated following our findings.”
When contacted Adegbola said he didn’t commit any serious offence other than he travelled to Lagos for a meeting called by the founder of the party without getting clearance.
He also said he has never been a signatory to the party’s account, not to talk of misappropriating the party’s fund.
