Oyo Rep pushes for stronger APM structure through grassroots engagement

Allied Peoples Movement

Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), has intensified consultations with party leaders and grassroots stakeholders as part of preparations for the 2027 general election.

Olajide met with local government and ward executives of the party from Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Local Government Areas, alongside party faithful, youth leaders, women groups and other stakeholders, to strengthen the party’s structure and mobilise support across the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, the federal lawmaker commended party members for their loyalty and resilience despite the changing political landscape in the state, describing party executives as the foundation of every successful political movement.

He said the meeting formed part of a series of consultations aimed at carrying all stakeholders along in the party’s ongoing political realignments ahead of the next election cycle.

According to him, unity, discipline and collective responsibility would be crucial to the party’s electoral success.

“Our meeting today is about taking stock of where we are, renewing our commitment to the party and charting a common course towards a successful outing in the 2027 general election,” he said.

Olajide said his political philosophy has always been anchored on consultation, inclusiveness and sustained engagement with party members and constituents.

He assured party executives that their contributions to the growth of the APM would continue to receive recognition, stressing that every member has a strategic role in building a formidable platform capable of winning elections.

Speaking on his senatorial ambition, Olajide said he intends to extend the quality of representation he has provided in the House of Representatives to the entire Oyo South Senatorial District.

He said his agenda would prioritise human capital development, digital innovation, youth and women empowerment, educational advancement, economic inclusion, infrastructure development and stronger legislative advocacy.

The lawmaker maintained that his experience representing the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency had prepared him for the responsibility of representing the nine local government areas that make up Oyo South in the Senate.

He pledged to sustain regular consultations with stakeholders across the district, describing his aspiration as one driven by service rather than politics alone.
