Pandemonium as train crushes woman in Kubwa

There was pandemonium, yesterday, in Kubwa, a suburb in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) when a train crushed a woman to death. An eyewitness account revealed that the accident occurred on Thursday morning at the railway tracks when the woman’s car got stuck on the rail tracks.

Another eyewitness, James Osaretin, said the yet to be identified woman got stuck on the rail track and while they were trying to rescue her, policemen at the scene chased them away.
In his words:” A lot of people trying to rescue the woman after her car got stuck on the tracks were sent away and beaten by policemen. I had to run for my dear life
The Regional Manager of Nigeria Railway, Pascal Nnoli, confirmed to The Guardian via telephone call, that there was an accident on the train tracks in Kubwa train station, but he was yet to get full details of what led to the crash.
Nnoli said train services are ongoing and the accident did not affect activities at the train station. He further called on residents and farmers living close to train stations to be mindful of their activities around the tracks.
