The parents of a six-year-old girl, Shukura Bolaji, found by the police, roaming Alice Tinubu Street, Orile, Lagos, two weeks ago, are yet to reclaim her.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent (SP), Benjamin Hundeyin had shown the picture of the girl last Wednesday, after days of fruitless search for the parents by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Orile, Chief Superintendent of Police  (CSP), Joshua Ekerenwen.

After the broadcast, the police, yesterday, said no one had come forth to claim the child and she has remained with the police.

Confirming this development to The Guardian yesterday, Hundeyin said: “The girl has been with us for almost a week before the broadcast and we had hoped that her parents would come for her thereafter, but we are yet to see any of her relatives. She is still under our custody and we are taking care of her.”

Bolaji is a dark complexioned girl with two tribal marks on her face.

Parents/guardians should contact DPO Orile, CSP Joshua Ekerenwen, on 08037267727.
