Parents seek whereabouts of missing 18-year-old boy

Leonard

Parents of Joseph Leonard, a missing 18-year-old student of Lagos State Government College in Eric Moore near Bode Thomas, Lagos, are still in dilemma about the whereabouts of their child.

Leonard, a resident of Silifatu Akinsanya Street in the Ijeshatedo area of Surulere, was said to have left home in the early hours of Friday, April 8, 2022, informing his mother that he was going to school and had not been seen.

The incident has been reported at both the Ijesha Police Station and Bode Thomas Police Station.
Speaking with The Guardian after a formal complaint at the Bode Thomas Police Station, yesterday, the father of the boy, Lucky Leonard, described his son as a gentle boy. He said the Senior Secondary (SS) 1 student told his mother that he was going to school to get his result.

The father expressed worries that no one has called to inform him if his son has been sighted or requested for ransom. He said: “I reported on Sunday and they asked me to bring the picture yesterday.

“I was not at home when he left, because I work in Ikoyi, Lagos. My wife told me that he left home at about 7:00a.m. and  told his mother that he will be back by 1:00p.m. same day,  till now, we have not seen him.

“He has never exhibited any attitude to suggest he was going through anything, my son is a good boy, and I don’t know any of his friends. He always went to school alone.”

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bode Thomas Police Station, Nathaniel Ijaola, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), confirmed the matter and said the division is working to unravel the matter and bring the boy back to his parents.
