PDP appoints DG, zonal coordinators for 2019 presidential campaign
• Lagos APC inaugurates action committee for Buhari’s re-election
• N-APGA names chairman, threatens legal action against leaders
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed a director-general and zonal coordinators for the party’s 2019 presidential campaign.
A statement yesterday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, named Senate President Bukola Saraki, as Director-General.
The party also named zonal coordinators for the different zones.
In the appointment, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State would head northwest zone, while Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State would coordinate the northeast zone.
Also appointed to coordinate the north-central zone was Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, with Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as zonal coordinator, south-south.
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose would coordinate the southwest zone, while Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State would serve as zonal coordinator, southeast.

The NWC promised to make further announcement on the composition and structure of the presidential campaign.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a PMB 2019 Local Government Action Committee.
The committee, which was inaugurated yesterday, is made up of 570 members from the 57 local councils and development areas.
Chairman, Mobilisation Committee of the group, Cornelius Ojelabi, said, the 570 members would serve as wards and local council coordinators in the 377 wards across the state.
Apex Leader, Lagos West Senatorial District, Prince Rabiu Oluwa, charged the committee to work assiduously to deliver the state for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
The state treasurer of the party, Layi Eniola, said Buhari has saved the country from looters, because he is not a corrupt man and has never been convicted.
In a related development, a New All Progressives Grand Alliance (N-APGA), formed by aggrieved governorship aspirants, has named Chief Ike C. Ibe, its national chairman.
Ibe, who addressed journalists in company of some of the aggrieved aspirants, lamented the circumstances that led to the birth of the new party.
