The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Federal Government to clarify the financial status of Osun State and rationalise why the state had reportedly been receiving the least allocation in the last six months.

The party, in a statement yesterday by its Public Secretary, Prince Diran Odeyemi, accused the Federal Government of keeping the citizens in the dark regarding the finances accruing to the state, saying the paltry allocations had impacted the state’s economy adversely.

“Rather than keep on shielding Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the Ministry of Finance and Debt Management Office (DMO) and other relevant agencies of government must explain to Nigerians why Osun got a paltry N6.2million out of N2.4 billion due to the state,” Odeyemi charged

The party also asked that the actual debt status of the state should be made public as well as the terms of repayment to rest growing anxiety among the people at home and abroad.
