Plateau ADC Crisis Deepens, As NWC Reinstates Suspended Members
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected the dissolution of the steering committee and suspension of some of its members in Plateau State.
The ADC in a letter signed by the National Secretary Alhaji Sa’id Baba Abdullahi, addressed to the State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), informed that the NWC has “ordered all positions within the party to be reverted to its initial positions.”
The letter was made available to jouranists in Jos yesterday, alongside press statement signed by the embattled Chairman and Secretary of the dissolved committee Alhaji Muhammadu Abdullahi and Mubarak Yusuf Garko respectively.
“The press release made by the State Chairman/ Gubernatorial candidate of the party in which he dissolved a committee set up to look into the ADC post election issues and suspended members is rejected by the National Working Committee as they remain bonifade members of the party,” the letter read in parts.
It further stated their names as; Alhaji Muhammadu Abdullahi, Mubarak Yusuf Garko, Muhammad Bashir, Umar Dauda Isa. Others are Hon. Sani Abdul, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar, Ibrahim U. Mamman, Hajiya Maimunatu Abubakar Sa’ad and Hajiya Aisha Musa with their respective positions.
The ADC letter said Sabiu Musa who was the gubernatorial candidate, should “mind his utterances in any matter that could bring about any further escalation of problems within the party.”
