FOLLOWING recent attacks and the seemingly endless acts of violence perpetrated in some local councils, the Plateau State Government has ordered restriction of movement across farms and communities in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos East, Mangu, Wase, Langtang North and Langtang South local councils between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. with immediate effect.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Chirtip Bello, the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Information and Communication, which was made available to journalists yesterday.

According to the statement: “Security agencies in the state have been directed to enforce the order on the restriction of movement and to set up their surveillance across the state.

“These urgent and drastic actions taken by government have become necessary in order to end the recent crises and wanton loss of lives and property in the affected areas. As people go about their legitimate businesses, we call on citizens to always be security conscious and report any suspicious movement of persons to the security personnel.”
