POLICE-LOGOTHE Yobe State Police command has arrested a 30-year old Mallam Ishaku Babangida for alleged rape of a toddler, Bilkisu Ya’u, in the Nguru border town of Niger Republic.

Parading the suspect on Monday at the Damaturu Police Headquarters, the State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Zannah Ibrahim, said that the suspect sexually assaulted the two-year old girl.

His words: “Apart from this prime suspect of alleged rape of a toddler, there are other suspects in our custody for alleged other criminal offences such as culpable homicide, robbery, circulation of counterfeit currency, cattle theft among others,” adding that with the conclusion of preliminary investigations, they are to be arraigned in court for prosecution.
